The gift-giving season is here!
Are you behind on your holiday shopping? Want a little pick-me-up treat for yourself during this busy, wintry time?
If so, I have a gift guide to help find your friends, family, (or even yourself) the perfect products for a first-time introduction to the K-Beauty scene.
There’s an overwhelming amount of Korean skin care products available, but here are ones that will perk the ears of those new to Korean products.
Su:m 37 Miracle Rose Cleanser Stick
This cleanser is unique because it comes in the form of a cylindrical deodorant with visible pieces of rose petals in it. Despite a unique form you may be skeptical of, it’s a product with rave reviews!
Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam
They have many amazing products, but I pulled this one out for you because it has excellent reviews for acne control! That’s always a plus! And hey, if acne clearing isn’t your’s or anyone in your life’s issue, you could always grab their stocking stuffers as gifts!
Products for Daily Skin Care Steps
In case you’re unaware, Korean skin care is known for having 10+ steps, and I have some great finds to help anyone beginning to incorporate skin-changing products into their routine.
Son & Park Beauty Water
This toner looks like nothing more than water in a clear bottle, but something has to be going right for it to be raved about from site to site, review to review.
Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule
Why would you put snail mucus on your face, you might wonder? Because many claim it to be a miracle-worker, that’s why! It’s made up of 80% snail mucus, which is said to be great for regeneration and repair for the skin. That means it can help with acne, skin texture, aging, brightening, and more!
SkinFood Peach Sake Serum
It’s cute! And effective! SkinFood’s Peach Sake Serum smells like peaches, and is effective for oil control.
There are more products you can purchase to go with this peach serum, but if you know someone with oily skin, then this is a perfect start! You could even leave a note alongside this gift to someone with combination skin and let them know they can use it on their t-zone to help control their pesky oiliness.
Leaders Sheet Masks
I literally haven’t seen much if any bad reviews about masks by Leaders. This is the perfect type of mask to pick up with a promising success rate! To find the appropriate mask for the issue of whoever you’re buying it for, check out this Reddit chat about fans’ favorites!
Make P:rem’s In-Shower Mask
Make P:rem makes innovative masks the people love! For the multitasker, there’s the in-shower mask. You cleanse your face, slather it on, and shower per usual.
The mask needs around 20 minutes to be fully effective, which is the perfect amount of time to finish your shower duties, and rinse it off right after. Wipe that steam off the bathroom mirror and witness plump, moisturized, smoother-looking skin!
Make P:rem’s Layering Me Sheet Mask
Two masks in one, literally! You layer one mask on top of the other, and they come with ear hooks so they stay in place (!!!). One mask helps with one skin issue while the other works on another skin issue. Together, they make a potent combination I keep hearing great things about!
Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask
This mask has has gone viral for its “bubbly monster” state it leaves your face in. You put it on after cleansing, and it’ll begin to tingle. Take a look in the mirror for some serious laughs! Take it off to reveal smooth skin and minimize pores.
There are more acne products out there than the zit-fighting cleansers, and I’m sure anyone gifted these cool products for annoying acne would love to give them a try.
Secret Key Lemon D-Toc Peeling Gel
People immediately see a noticeable difference when using this peel.
Diminished acne? Smoother skin? Brighter skin? Count me in!
Mizon Blemish Out Pink Spot
Super similar to Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion, but for a few bucks less.
Don’t shake! Let the product separate, take a Q-tip and dip it into the pink solution. Spot treat acne accordingly and zits will diminish within a day or two.
Too Cool for School Egg Mousse Pack
Too Cool for School tends to be too cool for most! 😉 This mask comes out as a cool mousse, helping to tighten pores and brighten skin.
COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch
These are pretty cool and highly recommended! Pop it onto your acne like a sticker overnight or during the day if you happen to be taking it easy for the day. It sucks out the puss and reduces the size of the pimple.
Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bars
Cutie-pa-tootie tinted balm in an adorable bunny package. What’s not to love?
Too Cool for School Gelpresso Waterproof Shadows
It looks like a lipstick but it’s actually a long-lasting, highly pigmented eyeshadow that many adore!
Innisfree BB Cushion Foundation
The reason I only added Innisfree’s BB cushion is because they are the first Korean BB cushion that consciously made a range of colors (probably because it went international and opened its first store in NYC). Because of Korea being mainly homogeneous the shades are usually limited. More shade options mean more inclusive joy to finally try out the foundation so many people couldn’t stop talking about!
p.s. Laneige was the first Korean BB cushion to offer richer shades, but they literally only have 6 shades in total. #MoarPlease
Etude House Tint My Brows Gel
If you’re not ready to commit to brow tattoos, but are tired of spending so much time on your brows, you need to pick up this brow tint.
Or for anyone in your life who’s very into slaying their eyebrows.
For the best results, I wipe my eyebrows with some alcohol to remove any oils, paint them on, let it dry for several hours (it says two, but the longer the better!), peel, and go.
Etude House Drawing Show Brush Eyeliner
If you or another loved one in your life loves Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner, this is pretty much an exact dupe for half the price.
Kailijumei Jelly Moisturizer Lipsticks
For the Instagram-loving, beauty product-lover in your life… you need to get ‘em this. It’s a super pretty balm that acts as a gloss as well. And it’s see-through and has a flower in it!!
SkinFood Honey Pot Lip Balm
Lip balm in the cutest honey pot packaging. It even comes with the little wooden spoon actual honey is known to come with. And another plus? It’s actually a good balm. It’s not just cute!
Now be honest. Are you going to pick up any of these gifts for yourself?
I wouldn’t blame ya. 🙂
