Meet Melixir: Korea’s First Vegan Skincare

Encased in mesmerizing warm tones and editorial cosmetic packaging, Melixir catches the eye of every Korean millennial woman that can decipher between quality packaging, ingredients, and skincare. Freshly entering the market, Melixir is quickly gaining momentum in the start up and skincare community – as the first Korean vegan skincare company.

Completely vegan, Melixir’s products are 100% plant-based ingredients, cruelty free, and devoid of any parabens, silicon, and other potentially harmful chemicals. With big corporations adding various chemicals and preservatives to extend shelf-life, Melixir goes against the grain by only using living, organic plant-based ingredients to keep skincare safe but effective.

Melixir’s philosophy?

To protect the environment and minimize animal-testing in the massive cosmetic world. The brand keeps conscious of global warming by reducing carbon emission from chemical testing and manufacturing. This supports sustainability, the environment, and reduces toxic waste.

More importantly – if the beauty industry is going to help individuals feel stronger and healthier and more beautiful, it should do so in the right way – with all natural, organic ingredients more concentrated with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Created only four months ago in April 2018, Founder and CEO Hana Lee has successfully locked down investments from Dino Ha (Memebox Corporation’s CEO), Primer (Korea’s leading acceleration program), and Douglas Guen (Founder of Primer, Inicus) for her brands to launch. Planning to only sell online, Hana has been able to raise significant funds on Wadiz (Korea’s crowdfunding site), Naver, and Melixir’s home site, which overall has accrued over $10,000 in pre-orders. Their next goal: the USA. Starting off with Amazon, they plan on selling directly to customers online without a middle man or retail channels.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Loss of firmness and elasticity
  • Weakened skin barrier

The Claim:

A powerful overnight skin-renewing facial oil for radiant, youthful-looking skin. Plant-derived sqaulane helps to regulate excess oil production, fight bacteria, and minimize the look of pores, making it a great solution for acne-prone skin.

Solutions for:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Healing sensitive skin types
  • Dryness and rough texture
  • Large pores

How to Use:

Apply 2-5 drops into the skin. Pat until fully absorbed. Use after cleansing, or at the end of your skincare routine. Daily use diminishes fine lines and skin damage and enhances luminosity and hydration, making it the perfect renewal oil.

Melixir Plant Derived Squalane Face Oil, 30 ml $68

Melixir is ahead of the game with their unique serums and face oils. Plant-based squalene? Unheard of. Squalene is typically extracted from sharks, but Melixir has found a way to create the same formula from greens instead. With so much technology today, there are countless ways to replace animal testing in cosmetics, and this brand champions this truth. Their philosophy of being environmentally conscious, choosing organic over synthetic, and saving furry friends (no animal-testing) has got their brand on another level of respect. We’re so stoked to see this brand enter the USA.
