Everyone knows that Seoul is home to some of the most aesthetic and trendy cafes in the world! A lot of the cafes in Seoul have a unique concept, which is beautifully expressed through their menu choices to their interiors and exteriors. Cafés are so commonly found in Korea that you are bound to spot one at every corner you turn (and this doesn’t even count famous franchises like Paris Baguette or Tous Les Jours).

Sosohagae is famous for their stunning gluten-free, low sugar cakes, which are the perfect guilt-free dessert experience! This cafe provides a wide array of different cake flavors. Inspired by Korean traditional dessert ingredients such as baekseolgi (white steamed rice cake), and heukimja (black sesame seeds), their cakes are a delicious fusion twist.

Mil Toast House is in Ikseon-dong, which is an area in Seoul known for traditional hanok-style houses. In the present day, many of these traditional buildings have been remodeled into modern cafes and restaurants — a unique way to keep up with the times while also keeping ties with history and heritage.
Originally inspired by Japanese architecture, the cafe is decorated with a pale minimalistic theme accented by light, wooden furnishings. They are known for their soft, freshly steamed breads (available plain, or with red bean, chestnut or corn fillings) and souffle french toasts!

6. Rally Point (랠리포인트)
Founded by Korean celebrity, Bora Lim (임보라), Rally Point is a frequently visited cafe by the locals for its unique interior and mouth-watering desserts. As the walls are made of glass, you are able to see the cafe from the outside. From Bora’s vlogs on her YouTube channel, she was very hands-on with the whole process of setting up this cafe from the dessert menu to the cafe design.
Rally Point is a rare find amongst the other cafes in Hongdae (a university district), as the overall service is on the fancier side. The location is also great, as it is only a 5-minute walk from Hongik University Station exit 5, and is close to the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, which is nicknamed Yeontral Park due to its Central Park-like atmosphere!

7. Onion (어닌언)
Anguk-dong, Mia-dong Seongsu-dong
Due to its popularity, the cafe now has three different outlets around Seoul. The outlets in Mia and Seongsu have an industrial chic vibe, while the outlet in Anguk resembles a hanok. Cafe Onion is most popular for their Pandoro, a tall castella bread topped with a generous amount of powdered sugar.
Aside from its aesthetically pleasing look, the bread is extremely soft and also not too sweet, so it won’t give you that lethargic feeling afterwards. The size of all the Cafe Onion outlets are relatively big, which accommodates guests to have a chill and relaxed time, as well as many photo opportunities!
Address (3 Locations):
Anguk Outlet: 5 Gye-dong-gil, Gye-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul

This cafe is most known for their picturesque rooftop and overall European atmosphere and feel. Sayoo is a five-storey cafe, and each floor is designed with a different concept, distinct from the rest. Discover a chocolate and gelato shop on the second floor, or chill out at the Media Space on the third floor, which features an area with comfy seats with a movie playing on the beam projector.
Address: 5 Itaewon-ro 54-gil, Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul
9. Cafe Skön (카페스콘)
Each part of Cafe Skön is an instagrammable moment you won’t want to miss! This local hotspot is a gingham-themed dessert cafe known for its cute and cheery decorations. Located in Yeonnam in a secluded, remote area along with other lowkey and aesthetic cafes such as Cafe Layered and Stamp Coffee, Cafe Skön is a three-storey building that is impossible to miss. The desserts are as Instagram-worthy as the cafe, and just as delicious. Our personal favorite is their soft and sweet French Toast, a simple yet classic dessert that can be enjoyed as a light brunch!
TIP: If the weather is good, make sure to grab a seat at the terrace with your cup of coffee. The peacefulness and quietness of Yeonnam will help you ease your mind.
